RSPO: All the plant products used by Candelis which derive from palm oil extraction conform to RSPO regulations.
The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil was set up in 2004 to promote the use and growth of sustainable palm oil products by establishing credible global standards among all the main market partners. .
RSPO is a not-for-profit organisation which serves the entire palm oil market and represents the parties engaged in all seven sectors of the palm oil industry: palm oil producers, palm oil processors and dealers, palm product manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental and wildlife conservation charities and human and social development charities. In so doing, the RSPO has established global standards for sustainable palm oil extraction. .
RSPO follows a round table philosophy in which all partners have equal rights. Decisions are taken by consensus and all partners are working towards a common goal. This has helped smooth trade relations and exchanges between parties which have historically tended to be in conflict. .
The organisation holds an annual meeting between all the partners to discuss and negotiate industry matters. .
Its main objectives are to safeguard human and environmental health whilst ensuring that European chemical industries remain competitive and innovative.
